In the vein of full disclosure, this is not my primary area of practice, however, having done work with federal regulations for years (primarily the Americans with Disabilities Act) reading regulations and guidelines, as well as preparing industry comments for agencies is something I have some experience with, so the post is not without value. Sitting on the line between law and social media as a practitioner may end up being a very interesting place to be. 🙂

The one thing that was missing from my marketing curriculum was new trends. I know that is a very broad topic, but it seemed like so many of the case studies were older.
I graduated a year and a half ago, and I was not exposed to any type of digital or social media marketing. College, in my opinion, teaches you about what has happened not what is happening.
Don't get me wrong, I still learned A TON from my courses, but I just didn't learn a lot about current trends and how things are/might be changing.

Hi Chris and John,
I graduated from University of Washington in 2006 and majored in marketing. Search Engine Optimization did not come up once in any class, but SEO has helped me get most of my work after school. I don't necessarily think this is bad, because when do you actually learn anything practical in college anyways?
