Google’s Webmaster Tools Labs section includes a Site Performance section. The numbers it reports can be wildly inaccurate but the recommendations can be useful, some not. Enabling gzip compression for example can give a decent speed improvement. Dumbest suggestion award goes to:
“The domains of the following URLs only serve one resource each. If possible, avoid the extra DNS lookups by serving these resources from existing domains:
http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js“
