Your comment about OpenSocial was not quite accurate. Google is helping create the standard for what OpenSocail is as as API but that does not mean it will hit Google servers. If my company writes an OpenSocial plugin that a user uses on MySpace, Google servers would not see any of the traffic.

Thanks for the clarification Chris, that is a good point – Google may not get all the data but they do get to become a central hub by controlling the API.
